Global Warming Blizzards
By Ernest Stewart

"It's winter, and we have storms, so that part is entirely natural. The global warming aspect relates to the fact that the oceans are warmer, and the air above them is more moist." ~~~ Kevin Trenberth, a senior scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research

Can't you just see Oklahoma's national embarrassment and global warming denier US Senator Jim Inhofe bringing in a snowman to the Senate floor for final proof that man-made global warming is a myth? One can only guess that Jim isn't that big of a moron and has been paid millions by the corpo-rats that are causing global warming. I mean, who could be that stupid and still be drawing breath?

Trouble is, the snowstorm is actual proof of global warming. The warmer the oceans are, the more water that is drawn up into the atmosphere; and, in the winter, the more snow you get depending upon the jet streams.

You may recall last year was the warmest year on record as 15 out of the last 16 years were. The 27 inches of snow that fell on New York's Central Park was the record as the biggest snowstorm in New York City's history; at JFK, they got 30.5 inches.

At least 46 people were killed in weather-related car crashes in Arkansas, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Virginia. Two died of hypothermia in Virginia, and at least a dozen died from heart attacks shoveling snow, including a woman who was 8 months pregnant.

In Washington, some areas received 30 inches of snow -- which is why Inholfe hasn't built his snowman yet as the roads were still blocked, and the Congressional subway system was closed as I wrote this. Meanwhile, much of the coastal areas of New Jersey were underwater (thanks to the storm), like they were 4 years ago when Hurricane Sandy paid a visit, only this time, the water was 8 inches deeper! As the ice packs and glaciers melt, and the oceans rise, you can first expect more flooding and eventually more of our coast line disappearing under the waves. For example, now might be a good time to sell any property you might have in lower Manhattan -- not to mention southern Florida!

And. yes, folks, this is just the tip of the iceberg of global warming things to come. You can expect more and similar blizzards in the future as you can expect hotter and drier or hotter and wetter summers as more and stronger tornadoes and more and stronger hurricanes add into the mix. More people on the move throughout the world as crops fail year after year, and the question becomes move or starve to death, which will, no doubt, trigger more and bloodier wars.

So, you can either roll over and go back to sleep and count on Senator Inholfe to save you, or, you can get up off your couch potato ass and do something about it. The choice is yours to make, America!

So how do you like Bush Lite so far?
And more importantly, what are you planning on doing about it?

Until the next time, Peace!
