Things Are Getting Bad Away Down Yonder, And A Way Up North Too!

With Global Warming, we've gotten the hottest months on record from January through March of 2016; and, as a result some of the worst storms on record plaguing the south from Florida to Texas and points north. Massive floods and tornadoes storms (17 in one day) coming one after another, after another, after, well, you get the picture. It's looking like either Global Warming is for real, or god doesn't like the folks down "In the land of the boll weevil, where the laws are medieval." Ergo, I guess that this is his punishment for sending those "bought and paid for" climate deniers to Washington. You remember all those biblical floods and such, right? Meanwhile, those damn Yankees and their Global Warming Science got a perfectly delightful warm winter, and all those terrible storms down south gave us spring showers for our beautiful May flowers!

Scientific research indicates that climate change will cause hurricanes and tropical storms to become more intense, lasting longer, unleashing stronger winds, and causing more damage to coastal ecosystems and communities. So, for all you storm survivors, you ain't seen nothing yet!

Scientists point to higher ocean temperatures as the main culprit, since hurricanes and tropical storms get their energy from warm water. As sea surface temperatures rise, developing storms will contain more energy, including winter snowstorms; remember, all of this is being caused with a 2 degree Celsius rise in temperature!

At the same time, other factors such as rising sea levels, disappearing wetlands, and increased coastal development threaten to intensify the damage caused by hurricanes and tropical storms. Add the melting runoff from either pole, and you get higher seas, which then, multiply the other effects! As the old song says you, "Better get ready to tie up the boat in Idaho."

Meanwhile, north of the border, some million acres are on fire or soon will be around the town of Fort McMurray, Alberta, where some 90,000 people were evacuated before this massive fire, which is expected to soon double in size, and is heading for the oil sands, which, if and when they catch fire, we could solve the problem of Global Warming or make it much worse. You may remember what happened when the Krakatoa volcano exploded in 1883? It caused worldwide temps to fall by 2.2 degrees celcius from the dust it put high up in the air -- and the worst flooding in southern California history! Or, more likely, trap even more of the Sun's heat in the atmosphere, causing temps to go up even higher.
