"I'm not aware of any proven case where the fracking process itself has affected water."
~~~ Lisa Jackson, former Environmental Protection Agency Administrator ~~~
You may recall that back in June, California regulators shut down 11 fracking injection wells after finding that wastewater may have contaminated aquifers. The Environmental Protection Agency ordered the state to send a full report -- which the California State Water Resources Board turned in earlier this month. The board confirmed that at least nine of the fracking sites in question were dumping waste into aquifers used for drinking water and farm irrigation. So in the worst drought in California history the corpo-rats are poisoning what little aqua is left!
They found that "the fracking industry illegally injected about 3 billion gallons of fracking wastewater into central California drinking-water and farm-irrigation aquifers," the state found this after the US Environmental Protection Agency ordered a review of possible contamination.
According to documents the California State Water Resources Board found that "at least nine of the 11 hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, wastewater injection sites that were shut down in June upon suspicion of contamination were in fact riddled with toxic fluids used to unleash energy reserves deep underground. The aquifers, protected by state law and the federal Safe Water Drinking Act, supply quality water in a state currently suffering unprecedented drought."
The documents also show that the Central Valley Water Board found high levels of toxic chemicals - including arsenic, thallium, and nitrates - in water-supply wells near the wastewater-disposal sites. And you wondered why they wouldn't tell us what chemicals they were using to frack with, and fought tooth and nail to keep from revealing them; well, now you know!
You will recall that Arsenic is a poison and a carcinogen that weakens the immune system; and Thallium is a common component in rat poison. Imagine that -- two poisons for the price of one, in your families drinking water! I wonder if your water filter will remove them, don't you? You do have an effective water filteration system, right?
Timothy Krantz, a professor of environmental studies at the University of Redlands said, "Arsenic and thallium are extremely dangerous chemicals."
"The fact that high concentrations are showing up in multiple water wells close to wastewater injection sites raises major concerns about the health and safety of nearby residents."
I'm sure you won't mind serving your children poisoned water so some 1% billionaire can make a few extra bucks selling gas to the Ukraine, huh? As Barry said, "We have a supply of natural gas that can last America nearly 100 years, and my administration will take every possible action to develop this energy."
Thanks for the music!
We get by with a little help from our friends!
So please help us if you can...?
So how do you like Bush Lite so far?
And more importantly, what are you planning on doing about it?
Until the next time, Peace!
